Probably the most recognized crystal in the world, don’t let its commonness detract from its awesomeness.  Amethyst’s ability to soothe anxiety and anger makes it a very helpful crystal in your toolbox.  And the attributes listed above, Balance – Inner Peace – Awareness can be thought of as a beautiful circle: achieving balance, leading to inner peace, making room for self awareness. Rinse, repeat.

Black Tourmaline is considered the best stone for protection. It is commonly used for grounding and as a shield against negative energy. For people heading into difficult situations or trying to crawl out of challenging times, this stone is a must-have. It gives us the strength to work through our hardships and rise above them. (For optimal use, it should be regularly cleansed and recharged. Selenite is a good option, here.)

Clear Quartz has quite a mystical history, as well as many modern day practical uses and they so effectively portray its attributes.  Cq was used in crystal balls during the Middle Ages to amplify clairvoyants’ powers of foresight by acting as a focal point. It is still used in timepieces today because its frequency helps to regulate the movements and maintain their accuracy.

Rose Quartz is usually referred to as the gateway crystal.  Typically everyone’s first in their collection.  It is all about L-O-V-E and its rich history only deepens the heart chakra vibes.  The Romans claimed that it was a gift from Cupid, bestowing love, passion and joy to the Earth.  It can help release negative feelings, open your heart and allow for the space to accept all of the love that surrounds us, and pay it forward.

Selenite gets its name from the Greek goddess of the Moon, Selene. It is often referred to as “liquid light” because it is thought to attract a positive flow of energy anywhere it is placed.
